Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to create my own calendar to use SquaredOut?
No, when you become a member, you will automatically have your own private calendar but you don't have to use it. If you'd prefer to simply follow public calendars, that's cool with us! Use SquaredOut however you like!

How many calendars can I create?
As many as you want! Don't let anyone or anything hold you and your ideas back.

What's the difference between a Private Calendar and Public Calendar?
Private Calendar can only be viewed by you and whomever you invite to share it with. A Public Calendar is visible and searchable to all users. Anyone can view public calendars and events and also add them to their own calendars.

How many people can I share my calendar with?
As many as you want! To share a private calendar, simply "invite" as many people as you wish. Public calendars are visible to everyone and anyone will be able to follow your every event.

What are the differences between the EventReader, EventWriter and Administrator privileges?
Calendar Privileges are broken down as follows:

EventReader: A person with "EventReader" privileges can view events as they are displayed on the calendar and see its details. Those with "EventReader" privileges are NOT able to edit events or calendar details.

EventWriter: A person with "EventWriter" privileges can create events on a specific calendar as well as edit the events that they have created. Those with "EventWriter" privileges cannot edit event or calendar details created by other users.

A person with "Administrator" privileges can control the entire calendar, including the ability to invite members, add/remove events, edit and update calendar information and details.

If I follow a public calendar, will people be able to view my contact information?
No, SquaredOut always protects your privacy. No one will have access to your personal information.

Can others view my email address and mobile information?
The only way people will have access to this information is if you give them access. Each calendar has an "Edit Calendar" option that allows you to set your preferences. If you check the box(es), you are allowing the members of that calendar to view your information. If you don't check the box(es), they will be restricted from viewing that information.

Why does SquaredOut request my address?
Adding your address to your profile is optional, however, it does make the user experience more automated for you. Adding your address to your profile enables us to show you search results of relevant calendars and events closest to your location. It also allows us to give you driving directions to places of interest.

Where do I change the color of my calendar events?
Each calendar prompts you to choose a theme. You set the calendar theme by using the "Color Picker" option from your Cal Manager or selecting a theme from the dropdown menu inside the "Edit Calendar" tab.

How can I get my favorite business(es) to create a public calendar?
Don't be afraid to tell your favorite venues, businesses, and organizations about SquaredOut. Everyone is welcome! We would love you to help spread the word, so let us know by emailing us at [email protected] and we'll be sure to tell them about SquaredOut.
