How did SquaredOut come about?
The SquaredOut concept started when one of our founders was frustrated trying to find things to do, get friends to join him and communicate plans efficiently:

"I wanted to mix up my routine on a Friday night. I had to dig through various websites, social media outlets and miscellaneous flyers to obtain information. And once I found the information, I had no way to efficiently transfer it to my schedule. Then, I had to text, email and call a dozen friends to figure out what everyone was doing and let them know my plans. This was a tedious, unstructured process. I knew there had to be a better way!" From there SquaredOut was born, a system of social calendaring - a private and public calendar platform that allows users to create, maintain, and invite others to share personal calendars and events. Users can also search and follow calendars and events based on interest and location. Users have the ability to IMPORT other calendars into their own, and the information is updated automatically!

About the SquaredOut name?
We wanted our name to illustrate the calendar in a unique way. During the discovery process, we began looking at the main elements of a calendar. The obvious characteristic that we couldn't ignore was the many squares that make up a calendar. "SquaredOut" was a perfect fit.

What's your Square look like? = Are you free on a particular day
Are we Square for Friday? = Are we on for Friday?
Are you SquaredOut tomorrow? = Are you busy tomorrow?
I'm SquaredOut this weekend. = I'm booked solid

Where is SquaredOut located?
Unlike 90% of the tech world (based in Silicon Valley), SquaredOut is located in sunny Southern California. Our headquarters is located in Orange County to ensure SquaredOut is not too far from the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean!
